WORKSHOP SCHEDULE AND CONTENT

1. Brush with Hope. Creative expression to promote self-awareness and mental health. Brush with Hope intends to create opportunity for participating students to express their stories through the medium of visual art. Art activities enable them to visually and creatively express their own ideas and emotions. By visualizing their ideas and emotions in their art pieces, participating students discover their unique individual and cultural identity and have opportunity to imagine the future they want to have. We will actively share the students’ valuable stories with the people around the world through art exhibitions in the major cities, and through online platform.

2. Fashion for All. A look at Fashion for All program, impact in communities and student’s self esteem and self expression, and discussion on how Kenyan (African fashion) is making a global impact. We can also collaborate to create a global issue based small scale fashion project and share ideas on how fashion can be a form of communication and vessel for change in the community and self.

3. Sustainability in Arts Program. Discuss how Arts programs can be sustainable in our community. Together, students can discover a healthy structure and design a sustainable arts program that can be plug in different communities.
